उद्देशः
- मागासवर्गीय विद्यार्थ्यांना त्यांचे शिक्षण पूर्ण करण्यात मदत करणे, ग्रामीण भागातील मागासवर्गीय विद्यार्थ्यांमधील गळतीचे प्रमाण कमी करणे आणि सामाजिक-आर्थिक क्षेत्रामध्ये सुधारणा आणि विकास करणे हा उद्देश आहे. आर्थिक अडचणीमुळे मागासवर्गीय विद्यार्थ्यांच्या शैक्षणिक विकासात कोणतीही अडचण येऊ नये, या उद्देशाने ही योजना 1950-51 पासून राबविण्यात येत आहे.
- कर्मचारी वेतन: वसतिगृह अधीक्षक, स्वयंपाकी, मदतनीस आणि रखवालदार यांना एकत्रित वेतन किंवा मानधन मिळते.
- निर्वाह अनुदान: प्रति विद्यार्थी प्रति महिना रु. 900/- जे सरकार 10 महिन्यांसाठी प्रदान करते.
- इमारतीचे भाडे: सार्वजनिक बांधकाम विभागाने प्रमाणित केलेल्या भाड्याच्या 75 टक्के रक्कम इमारतीच्या भाड्यासाठी संस्थेला दिली जाते.
- सुविधा: निवास, भोजन, अंथरूण, कपडे, खेळ आणि साहित्य इ. सुविधांसाठी सहाय्य प्रदान केले जाते.
- वसतिगृह प्रवेश: ही योजना अनुसूचित जाती, मांग, वाल्मिकी, कातकरी आणि माडिया प्रवर्गातील स्थानिक विद्यार्थ्यांना आणि अनुदानित वसतिगृहातील अनाथ, अपंग आणि निराधार विद्यार्थ्यांना विशेष अधिकृतता प्रदान करते.
- योजनेचे हे फायदे विद्यार्थ्यांना अंधश्रद्धा किंवा शिक्षणातील अडचणी दूर करण्यास मदत करतात. सामाजिक न्याय आणि साक्षरता या क्षेत्रातील हे एक महत्त्वाचे कार्य आहे, ज्याला समाजातील सर्व स्तरातील लोकांनी पाठिंबा दिल्यास आपला समाज समृद्ध होईल.
