Key Highlights

Board Exams Limited to 12th Grade

Board exams will now be exclusive to the 12th grade, and the traditional 10th-grade board exams will cease to exist. This offers students a chance to explore additional courses during the 10th-grade period.

Mother Tongue Emphasis (Up to Class 5)

Students up to 5th grade will be taught in their mother tongue, regional language, or national language. English will remain a subject but not the primary medium of instruction.

Flexible Higher Education

Students can choose between a 3-year undergraduate program or a 4-year program leading to a degree. The latter option provides a path to pursue an MA in the fifth year, promoting adaptability.

Streamlined Academic Path

From 9th to 12th grade, students will undergo semester exams following the 5+3+3+4 education structure.

Introduction of NETF

The National Educational Technology Forum (NETF) will be initiated to drive advancements in education, including the incorporation of e-courses and virtual labs.

Governmental Uniformity

The new paradigm establishes **consistent rules** for all institutions, whether governmental, private, or deemed, ensuring a standard of quality across the board.

In the words of the Honorable Education Minister, this holistic approach aims to create a dynamic, flexible, and globally competitive education system.

The 'New Academic Paradigm' is more than a mere change in structure; it is a gateway to a brighter, more adaptable future for the students of India.
